Manchester City have confirmed the long-awaited signing of Josuco Gvardiol.
Transfer market journalist Fabrizio Romano announced Gvardiol’s “Here We Go” to City on Tuesday (July 30). The price is a fixed transfer fee of 90 million euros ($128.9 billion) with no bonus clauses.
Gbadiol’s €90 million move to City is the highest transfer fee ever for a defender. The move has also shaken up the list of all-time defender transfer fees. Transfer agency Transfermarkt has released a list of the top 10 defender transfers of all time.
First on the list is Man City’s Josko Gvardiol. The 21-year-old Croatian was born in 2002. He joined City this summer from RB Leipzig. His transfer fee was 90 million euros ($128.9 billion).
In second place is Harry Maguire of Manchester United. He is a 30-year-old Englishman born in 1993. He joined United from Leicester City in 2019. His transfer fee was €87 million (approximately $132.8 billion).
In third place is Matthijs de Ligt, who moved to Juventus at the time. The 23-year-old Dutchman was born in 1999. He joined Juventus from AFC Ajax in the summer of 2019. His transfer fee was €85.5 million.
In fourth place is Liverpool”s Virgil van Dijk. The 32-year-old Dutchman was born in 1991. He joined Liverpool from Southampton in the winter of 2018. His transfer fee was €84.65 million.
In fifth place is Wesley Fofana of Chelsea. The 22-year-old Frenchman was born in 2000. He joined Chelsea from Leicester City in the summer of 2022. His transfer fee was €80.4 million (approximately $115.2 billion).
In sixth place, we have Luca Hernandez, who moved to Bayern Munich. The 27-year-old Frenchman, born in 1996, moved to Munich from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019. His transfer fee was €80 million (approximately $114.6 billion).
In seventh place is Man City”s Jubeng Dias. He is a 26-year-old Portuguese born in 1997. He joined City from SL Benfica in the summer of 2020. His transfer fee was €71.6 million (approximately $102.6 billion).
In eighth place, we have Matthias De Ligt again. De Ligt, who joined Juventus in the summer of 2019, left the Bianconeri for Munich in the summer of 2022 for a transfer fee of €67 million.
In ninth place is Man City’s Aymeric Laporte. The 29-year-old, born in 1994, is Spanish. He joined City from Athletic Bilbao in the winter of 2018. His transfer fee was 65 million euros (approximately $93.1 billion).
In 10th place is Manchester United”s Lisandro Martinez. He is a 25-year-old Argentine born in 1998. He joined Manchester United from AFC Ajax in the summer of 2022. His transfer fee was €57.37 million (approximately $82.2 billion).스포츠토토
After John Stones (Man City) at No. 11, the 12th most expensive Asian transfer of all time is 27-year-old South Korean Kim Min-jae, born in 1996, who moved to Munich from SSC Napoli for a transfer fee of €50 million (approximately $71.6 billion).
