Manchester City (England) are targeting Jeremy Dockoo (21, Stade Rennes) as a replacement for Riyad Mahrez (32, Al Ahli), who left for Saudi Arabia.
The Daily Telegraph reported on Tuesday (June 10) that “Man City are strongly considering Jeremy Dockoo as a replacement for Riyad Mahrez. Pep Guardiola, 52, has made him a target for the club.”
City lost key winger Mahrez to Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli this summer. After scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions last season to help the club win the first treble in its history, Mahrez chose to bid farewell to City in a £30 million deal.
Guardiola has identified Dokou as his replacement. The Stade Rennes (France) have not yet sent a formal offer, but have been monitoring the player this summer. According to the media, Dokou would break the club’s record for the highest transfer fee. The previous record was set by West Ham (England) when they paid £35 million for Kieran Agger (27). Dokou is currently valued at a transfer fee of 50-60 million euros ($72.4-86.9 billion).
Dokou is considered a promising talent on the European stage. He is blessed with explosive speed, which he uses to his advantage to break through off the dribble. He has also been praised for his ability to create goals for his teammates instead of just dribbling.
He made his debut for Anderlecht (Belgium) in 2018 at the age of 16. He then moved to Stade Rennes in 2020, where he really hit his stride. After three years in France, where he scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 90 games, he has already attracted interest from big European clubs such as Liverpool (England) and Napoli (Italy).메이저놀이터
If City were to make a serious bid for Dokou, there would be no problem with a personal agreement. Stade Rennes are unlikely to let go of their ace for less than a modest fee, so a significant transfer fee would be required. Will Guardiola make a move to bring him to England?
