“Verlander a ‘diva’ separated from colleagues” Mets staffer “complains Mets analytics team is worse than Houston’s” ‘Sniping’

Recently, an anonymous New York Mets employee told the New York Post that Justin Verlander was a “diva” who was “largely detached” from his Mets teammates and complained that the team’s analytics department was inferior to the one he worked with in Houston.

On Friday, Verlander took to social media to seemingly respond to the employee’s claims.

“I want to say that I have nothing but respect for the Mets organization, and I’ve enjoyed connecting with all of my teammates this season. “That said, we all recognize that the success of a team is made up of more than just the players on the field, and everyone’s input is valuable. I’m sorry to hear that an employee took offense to constructive criticism on how we can improve. We wish the Mets the best of luck moving forward.”

According to the New York Post, the employee said that Verlander’s demanding and arrogant demeanor caused friction between him and Max Scherzer. Verlander and Scherzer had a history of feuding during their time with the Detroit Tigers.스포츠토토

The 2023 clubhouse had a different feel from previous seasons, when Scherzer enjoyed sharing information with Chris Bassitt and helping young pitchers like David Peterson and Taylor Megill, the employee said. That vibe has been missing since Verlander arrived, he said.

The Mets, now 53-65, gave up on the season and traded both Verlander and Scherzer.
