“I found out late, but it was devastating,” says Park Sung-gyun, assignment team supervisor

“It’s devastating.”

Yale Med Tech High School coach Park Sung-gyun was devastated after KT Wiz outfielder Choi Jae-dae, 28, admitted to bullying a junior in high school. Park was the head coach at his alma mater, Seongnam High School, for 10 years, from 2011 to 2020. If you include his time at Seongnam Middle School, that’s 16 years of coaching experience. It was during this time that, unbeknownst to him, beatings occurred between seniors and juniors on the training field. As a coach, it was natural for him to feel devastated.

In a phone conversation with MHN Sports, Park said, “When I was in charge, I tried very hard to prevent such beatings/abuse from happening. I tried to prevent it, prevent it, prevent it, and even though I’ve already left the organization, I’m so ashamed that it’s only now that it’s been revealed that it happened while I was still in office,” he said.메이저놀이터

Park had every reason to be. He had a great reputation among the alumni of Seongnam High School as one of the most prominent figures in high school baseball, and while he emphasized on-field etiquette, he also made it clear to his players that even if they felt unfairly affected by an umpire’s call, they should accept it and use it to build a stronger team. In recognition of his leadership, he was also selected to coach the youth national team, where he achieved good results.

In particular, Park emphasized the basics more than anyone else. It came as a shock to him that his most trusted student was practicing harshness on his juniors, regardless of its intensity.

“I’m very shocked that the harshness started from the third grade and continued to the second and first grades. I wonder if I didn’t teach them well, and I feel very guilty. It breaks my heart to realize that I didn’t pay close enough attention at the time,” he said.

At this point, the statute of limitations has expired and no criminal charges can be filed. However, there is still a long way to go before the two sides can reconcile their differences regarding the situation. Upon learning of the news, his former teacher is still waiting for the first game of the phoenix tournament on the 18th with a heavy heart.
