Thailand loses to Qatar 1-3.
The Thailand men’s national volleyball team, coached by Park Kiwon, fell 1-3 (16-25, 25-22, 19-25, 19-25) in their second match against Qatar in Group E of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games at the Linping Sports Center Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China at 2:30 p.m. (local time) on Tuesday.
Thailand faced Qatar, ranked 17th by FIVB, in an evenly matched match. They dropped the first set but bounced back to take the second. Qatar also struggled.
However, they dropped the third set 25-19, and the fourth set was also a disappointment as they struggled with Qatar’s height. The players’ set play was also disappointing. Coach Park Ki-won shouted to awaken the players’ concentration, but the game was not overturned.
Nappadet stepped up with 11 points and Kisada Nilsawai with 10 points, but the result remained unchanged. They were out-blocked 8-17, out-served 4-6, out-attacked 42-54, and out-tossed 24-21.
“It was a very bad game,” said Park Ki-won after the match. The players weren’t in their best form, so what could I say,” he said, adding, “If we played well, it would be worth it, but we didn’t do anything at all.”
Still, the team will have no problem reaching their goal of making the round of 12. Thailand won 3-0 against Hong Kong the day before. Barring Hong Kong’s upset of Qatar tomorrow (Nov. 21), there is virtually no chance of that happening.메이저사이트
“Our goal was the top 12 from the beginning,” Park said. There’s nothing we can do about it after the quarterfinals. There have been so many tournaments this year. We haven’t been able to train much with the players we have now. Still, I’m grateful to them for coming along. I want to win unconditionally, but I guess that’s my greed,” he laughed.
