29 years in the making…the LG Twins win a championship

The LG Twins of the Korean Baseball Organization have won their first regular season title in 29 years.

With the KT Wiz and NC Dinos, who played on each of the three days, losing their respective games, LG clinched first place in the regular season regardless of the outcome of the remaining games.

Currently, LG has 82 wins, 51 losses, and 2 ties for a winning percentage of 0.617.

Therefore, even if LG loses all nine of its remaining games, it will not be able to overtake second-place KT (137 games, 74 wins, 60 losses, and 3 draws) with a final winning percentage of 0.577, or third-place NC (133 games, 70 wins, 61 losses, and 2 draws) with 11 games remaining.

The LG Twins, who were traveling to play a two-game series against the Lotte Giants at Sajik Stadium in Busan on April 4, received the news of the championship on the bus.

It’s been 29 years since LG won the 1994 regular season title.

LG was at its peak in 1990 and 1994, when it won the regular season and Korean Series titles.

However, the team has been away from winning for a long time, finishing as runners-up in the 2002 fall baseball season and not even reaching the Korean Series.메이저놀이터

This year, with more than 10 days to go until the end of the regular season, the team could start preparing to win the Korean Series early.

“I would like to say thank you and congratulations to the players who worked together as a team around our captains, Oh Ji-hwan and Kim Hyun-soo, and pitchers Kim Jin-sung and Lim Chan-kyu, and did their best in every game of the pennant race,” said Yeom Kyung-yeop.
