After failing to reach the postseason despite spending an astronomical amount of money, the New York Mets will have a new manager and a new look for the 2024 season.
According to MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, Billy Eppler has resigned from his position as general manager of the New York Mets.
The resignation is believed to be largely related to the Mets’ recent hiring of former Milwaukee Brewers president David Stearns.
The Mets hired Stearns in the middle of last month, and following Showalter’s resignation on Feb. 2, Eppler resigned today.
Eppler had signed a four-year contract with the Mets through the 2022 season, but was forced to step down without completing his term.메이저사이트
This is due to poor performance. The Mets spent the most money in Major League Baseball history this season and looked to win the World Series.
Instead, they finished with a dismal 75 wins, 87 losses, and a .463 winning percentage. They were 29 games out of first place in the division, let alone the World Series.
In an effort to turn things around, the New York Mets have replaced their president, and their manager and general manager are on their way out. Now, the Mets are looking for a new manager and general manager.
