IOC ‘slaps’ suspension on Russia for joining Ukraine’s local association

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has imposed sanctions on Russia.

The IOC announced on its official website today that it has suspended the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).

This is in response to the ROC’s unilateral decision on May 5 to include as members regional sports organizations from Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhia that are under the authority of the Ukrainian National Olympic Committee.

The four regions are near the Russian border and have been declared annexed by Russia.

The IOC said this was a violation of the Olympic Charter, saying it “violated the territorial integrity of the Ukrainian NOC recognized by the IOC under the Olympic Charter.메이저놀이터

As a result, the IOC Council has indefinitely suspended all activities of the ROC.

As a result, the ROC’s National Olympic Committee functions have been suspended and it is not eligible to receive any funding from the Olympic Movement.

In addition, the IOC will decide at a later date whether Russian athletes will be allowed to compete in individual qualification at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris and the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina, in keeping with the IOC’s recommendation in March.
