Spanish flanker Parlo Maffeo (26-Mallorca), who played alongside Lee Kang-in (22-Paris Saint-Germain) at Mallorca until last season, has revealed an offensive message he received on his personal social networking site.
The messages Maffeo received from anonymous users on Instagram, both public and private, included “Maffeo, announce you have cancer so I can laugh. You’re an X,” and “You’re injured. You are Xed. The anonymous user even went as far as to insult Mallorca defender Antonio Lillo and Cádiz’s Ivan Alejo and Pali, saying, “You, Lillo, Alejo and Pali are murderers and criminals who should be in prison.” This is not the first time Maffeo has spoken out about bullying and serious insults on social media.
Maffeo is a former Man City youth player who has been with Mallorca since 2021 after stints with Girona and Stuttgart. He spent the 2021-2022 season on loan before signing a permanent deal in 2022. He played alongside Lee Kang-in from 2021 to 2023. He started seven La Liga games before suffering an injury in late September.
