The Korean athletes competing at the Hangzhou 2022 Para Asian Games (Hangzhou APG) held a farewell ceremony at the Hangzhou APG Athletes’ Village on Sunday, October 29, after seven days of intense competition.
A total of 110 people attended the ceremony, including Jeong Jin-wan, President of the Korean Para Sports Association, Lee Jung-mi, Sports Cooperation Officer of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Kim Jin-hyuk, Team Leader.
“We sent 345 athletes in 21 sports and won a total of 30 gold, 33 silver, and 40 bronze medals, placing fourth overall,” said Kim Jin-hyuk, head of the team. “As the head of the team, I am very proud of you and will cherish this time with you,” he said in the results report.스포츠토토
“Each and every one of you is a true champion who showed their skills to the fullest regardless of victory or defeat in this competition,” said Chairman Jung Jin-wan. “Now, let’s work hard for the Paris Paralympic Games and show the nation a more developed Para sports scene.”
“Many people were touched by the way the athletes did their best in the competition,” said Lee Jung-mi, Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, adding, “The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to do its best to support you to fulfill your dreams.”
After the ceremony, Kim Jin-hyuk returned the flag to Chairman Chung Jin-wan and all the participants took a commemorative photo.
Meanwhile, the Korean athletes competed at the Hangzhou 2022 ParaAsia Games, winning 30 gold, 33 silver, and 40 bronze medals, achieving the overall ranking (4th place) they had initially targeted.
