Steph Curry, 35, was pleased with his team’s road performance this season.
Curry’s Golden State Warriors lost a 105-108, three-point game against the Denver Nuggets on Nov. 9.
“Last season we played eight games on the road in a short period of time, and I think we’re going to set a record this season,” Curry said in a postgame interview.
“When you think about how we played then,” he continued, his voice trailing off, “I’m not going to talk about last year anymore. I’m not going to talk about last year, it’s over.”
“We’re looking forward to being a good team that wins on the road, and we’re going to embrace that,” Curry said, adding, “A lot of people are going to be tempted to talk about last year when we go on the road. But we’re going to talk about when we come back from winning on the road,” he laughed.
“I’m much more focused on how we approach away games,” he added, “We need to be able to bring a great atmosphere home. “We have to bring a great atmosphere home, so I think we executed better than we thought we would tonight,” he said of Denver’s performance.
Turning back the clock, Golden State got off to a shaky start on the road last season, going 0-8 on the road. The Warriors’ first win on the road came on Nov. 21 against the Houston Rockets. It was the 17th game of the season.
And things didn’t get much better after that. Golden State finished the 2022-23 season with an 11-30 record on the road. Critics talked about the Warriors’ lack of team chemistry and criticized their defense.
However, this season, the Warriors are showing fans a much different side of themselves than last year. This season, the Warriors have gone 6-1 on the road during their seven-game road trip. The only close loss was to defending champion Denver. 보스토토 주소
As Curry said, the Warriors added Chris Paul this season to eliminate the ups and downs of their bench, and their defense, with Gary Payton II, Draymond Green, and Kevon Looney, is much better than last season. As a result, they are cruising to a 23-24 record and fourth place in the Western Conference.
